To help me reproduce a bug quickly, please include:
- What happened, and what you did just before
- App version (shown at the very bottom of the settings)
- Device and operating system version, for example iPhone 15, iOS 26.1 or Pixel 9, Android 16
- A screenshot, if possible
- Optionally your friend code, so I can find your profile
Important: Never send me your security code. I will never ask for it either. Anyone who has it can take over your profile.
Frequently asked questions
How do I invite someone to a list?
Open the list, tap the menu at the top right and choose List settings. Under Members → Invite enter the other person's friend code. You can find your own code in the settings under Share friend code. Only the person who created the list can invite others.
How do I move my lists to a new phone?
On the old device you will find your security code in the settings under Transfer device. On the new device choose I already have a security code at first launch and enter it. Your lists and your friend code will then be back. A profile cannot be restored without the security code, so keep it safe.
I am not receiving notifications.
First check in your device settings under Notifications → EinkaufGuru that notifications are allowed. In the app, choose under Settings → Notifications which events you want to be notified about. While the app is open it updates directly and does not send a notification.
A barcode is not recognized.
Product names come from the free Open Food Facts database. If a product is not listed there, the app cannot find a name. You can then simply enter the item by hand.
How does the Apple Watch app work (iOS only)?
Open EinkaufGuru once on your iPhone while the watch is connected. After that the watch works on its own, and you can check off items even without your iPhone nearby. Without a connection the watch remembers your changes and syncs them later.
How do I report a recipe or block someone?
In a recipe's menu you can report it or block its author. I review reported recipes and remove them if they violate the rules. You manage blocked users under Settings → Blocked users.
How do I delete my data?
Under Settings → Delete all data you remove your profile and all lists you created from your device and from the server. This cannot be undone. You will find more in the privacy policy.
